As we enter the month of February, for most of us, we have returned to work, the kids are heading back to school and the holiday season is well and truly behind us. So, let’s ask ourselves the question, “how am I feeling”? Am I happy to be back, energised and ready to tackle another year? Or maybe feeling a little “out of sorts”.

What is wellbeing?  It is often described as a state of being content, healthy, secure, safe, and happy. We all aspire to have the ducks lined up so that good wellbeing falls into place. This usually requires planning, making decisions and then some luck.

December is a good time to reflect on the past year and to start planning for 2015.  After a busy period, like harvest or simply as an “annual weighing” up before Christmas, conducting a review with ourselves and/or our team is good for our wellbeing.  We need to acknowledge, value and reward ourselves individually and our team’s work efforts.

Being a MALE is a matter of birth, being a MAN is a matter of age, but being a positive and active MENTOR is a matter of choice - “He didn’t tell me, He showed me”

Google the word "mental health" and you will find numerous organisations and groups promoting the importance of mental health, however we think understanding the difference between "mental health and wellbeing" and "mental illness" is important.
